LPG Cylinder Prices Hiked Again: Cooking Gas Now ₹913 in Delhi — Check New Rates in Major Cities
Domestic and commercial LPG cylinder prices in India have been increased starting Saturday, as global energy costs climb amid escalating tensions in West Asia.
The latest revision raises the cost of a 14.2 kg household LPG cylinder by ₹60, while the price of a 19 kg commercial cylinder has increased by ₹114.5. Industry sources attribute the hike to the sharp rise in global fuel prices triggered by the ongoing conflict involving United States, Israel, and Iran.
Domestic LPG Rates See Second Hike in Less Than a Year
With the new revision, the price of a non-subsidised domestic LPG cylinder in Delhi has increased to ₹913, compared to the earlier rate of ₹853, according to data from Indian Oil Corporation.
This marks the second price increase within the past 11 months, following a ₹50 hike implemented in April last year.
The final retail price of LPG varies across states due to differences in local taxes and Value Added Tax (VAT).
Latest Domestic LPG Cylinder Prices (14.2 kg)
| City | Price |
| Delhi | ₹913 |
| Mumbai | ₹912.50 |
| Kolkata | ₹939 |
| Chennai | ₹928.50 |
Subsidy Continues for Ujjwala Scheme Beneficiaries
Households covered under the government’s Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana will continue receiving a ₹300 subsidy per cylinder for up to 12 refills annually.
The scheme, launched in 2016, has provided free LPG connections to over 10 crore economically weaker households, helping promote cleaner cooking fuel across rural and low-income communities.
Commercial LPG Cylinder Prices Also Increased
Businesses that rely heavily on LPG, such as restaurants, hotels, and catering services, will also feel the impact of the price revision.
The cost of a 19 kg commercial LPG cylinder has now climbed to ₹1,883 in Delhi after the latest increase of ₹114.5.
This follows a previous ₹28 hike implemented earlier in the month, adding to the cost burden for businesses in the hospitality sector.
Petrol and Diesel Prices Remain Unchanged
Despite rising global crude oil prices, fuel rates for petrol and diesel have remained unchanged across major Indian cities.
Latest Petrol and Diesel Prices in India
| City | Petrol (₹/litre) | Diesel (₹/litre) |
| Delhi | ₹94.77 | ₹87.67 |
| Mumbai | ₹103.54 | ₹90.03 |
| Kolkata | ₹105.41 | ₹92.02 |
| Bengaluru | ₹102.96 | ₹90.99 |
| Hyderabad | ₹107.46 | ₹95.70 |
| Chennai | ₹101.06 | ₹92.61 |
Analysts say domestic fuel prices could face upward pressure if the geopolitical conflict in West Asia continues to disrupt global energy markets.
Summary
India has increased the prices of both domestic and commercial LPG cylinders amid rising global energy costs linked to the escalating West Asia conflict. The price of a 14.2 kg household cylinder has been raised by ₹60, taking the cost to ₹913 in Delhi, while a 19 kg commercial cylinder now costs ₹1,883. This marks the second LPG price hike in less than a year. However, petrol and diesel prices across major cities remain unchanged for now.
