FBI Interview Notes Containing Allegations Against Donald Trump Released in Epstein Document Dump

The U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) has released previously withheld files related to the Jeffrey Epstein investigation, including FBI interview summaries containing allegations made against Donald Trump.

The documents were made public after reports surfaced suggesting that several records connected to the Epstein investigation were missing from the DOJ’s online database. The absence of these materials led some Democratic lawmakers to accuse officials of intentionally withholding information. However, the Justice Department clarified that the files had been mistakenly excluded because they were incorrectly labeled as duplicate records during the review process.

Details From the FBI Interview Summaries

Among the newly released materials are three internal memoranda summarizing FBI interviews conducted in 2019 with an unnamed woman. During those interviews, the woman made claims that both Trump and Epstein sexually assaulted her when she was between 13 and 15 years old.

According to the documents, the woman told investigators that she first met Trump in the 1980s, allegedly through Epstein when she was still a teenager. The interview notes describe her accusations but indicate that the claims were not supported by corroborating evidence.

The files also reveal that FBI agents did not continue contact with the woman after the interviews, and no further investigative actions related to her claims were detailed in the released records.

White House Rejects Allegations

The White House responded strongly to the publication of the documents, dismissing the accusations as unfounded.

Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said in a statement that the allegations were “completely baseless” and unsupported by credible evidence.

She also noted that during the administration of Joe Biden, the Justice Department did not pursue any charges against Trump related to the accusations.

According to the statement, officials concluded there was no substantiated evidence of wrongdoing.

Trump Appears Frequently in Epstein Files

The broader release of Epstein-related records includes thousands of references to Trump in emails, correspondence, and other communications linked to Epstein. However, individuals who have publicly come forward as victims of Epstein have not accused Trump of criminal conduct.

In addition to interview summaries, the document set also contains a list of complaints submitted through the FBI’s National Threat Operations Center tip line. These submissions include numerous allegations involving Epstein, Trump, and other prominent individuals.

Many of these tips appear to be unverified reports lacking supporting evidence.

Background on Epstein Investigation

Epstein, a financier who was convicted of sex crimes, maintained relationships with several high-profile figures over the years. Trump and Epstein were reportedly acquaintances for some time before their relationship deteriorated in the early 2000s, according to Trump.

The newly disclosed memos surfaced after media outlets such as NPR and The New York Times reported that file indexes suggested the FBI conducted four interviews with the woman in 2019 during its investigation into Epstein associate Ghislaine Maxwell.

Maxwell was convicted in 2022 for her role in facilitating Epstein’s sex trafficking operation.

Reports indicated that three interview summaries and related notes—spanning more than 50 pages—were missing from the DOJ’s public database until the department acknowledged the error and released them.

Congressional Scrutiny Over File Handling

The handling of Epstein-related records has also drawn attention from lawmakers. Earlier this week, the U.S. House Oversight Committee voted to subpoena Pam Bondi, seeking answers about how the Justice Department managed the release of the files.

The motion received bipartisan support, with several Republican members joining Democrats in backing the subpoena.

The controversy follows legislation passed by United States Congress in November requiring the Justice Department to publicly release all materials related to its Epstein investigations. Since then, millions of documents have been gradually made available.

Summary

The U.S. Department of Justice has released previously withheld FBI interview summaries related to the Jeffrey Epstein investigation. The documents include unverified allegations made by an unnamed woman in 2019 accusing Donald Trump and Epstein of sexual assault when she was a minor. The Justice Department stated the files were mistakenly excluded from earlier releases due to a coding error. The White House dismissed the claims as baseless and unsupported by evidence. The release comes amid ongoing congressional scrutiny over how the Epstein-related documents have been handled.
