PM Narendra Modi Speaks with UAE President Mohamed bin Zayed, Condemns Attacks and Backs Regional Peace

Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a telephonic conversation with United Arab Emirates President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, strongly denouncing the recent attacks targeting the UAE and offering condolences for the loss of lives.

In a message shared on social media, PM Modi referred to the UAE President as “my brother” and reiterated India’s unwavering support for the Gulf nation during this challenging period. He expressed deep sorrow over the casualties and emphasized India’s solidarity with the Emirati people.

“Spoke with President of the UAE, my brother Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. Strongly condemned the attacks on the UAE and condoled the loss of lives. India stands in solidarity with the UAE in these difficult times,” the Prime Minister stated.

India–UAE Relations and Indian Community in Focus

During the discussion, PM Modi also conveyed appreciation to the UAE leadership for safeguarding the interests and security of the large Indian diaspora residing in the country. With nearly 3.5 million Indians living and working in the UAE, it remains one of the largest expatriate communities in the Gulf region.

The Prime Minister underscored India’s support for de-escalation efforts and called for renewed commitment to peace, stability, and security across West Asia, as tensions continue to rise in the region.

Escalating Tensions in West Asia

The developments come amid heightened geopolitical instability following military actions by the United States and Israel targeting Iran.

US President Donald Trump, in a video statement posted on Truth Social, asserted that the objective of the military campaign was to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons capability. He declared that the operation aimed to dismantle Iran’s missile infrastructure and significantly weaken its military capacity.

The large-scale military action, reportedly named Operation Epic Fury, was initiated after weeks of diplomatic warnings from Washington. US Central Command indicated that the mission focused on neutralizing what it described as imminent security threats linked to Iran’s defense network.

Trump also issued strong warnings to Iran’s military leadership, urging surrender in exchange for immunity, while calling upon Iranian citizens to challenge their government once the operation concludes.

Israel’s Position

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated that Israel, in coordination with the United States, had acted to eliminate what he described as an existential threat stemming from Iran’s regime.

Meanwhile, Iranian authorities have consistently maintained that their nuclear program is designed solely for peaceful civilian energy purposes and deny pursuing nuclear weapons.

India’s Diplomatic Balancing Act

India has maintained strategic ties with key stakeholders in the region, including the UAE, Israel, Iran, and the United States. PM Modi’s outreach reflects New Delhi’s diplomatic approach of supporting regional stability while ensuring the safety of Indian nationals abroad.

With West Asia witnessing renewed instability, India’s call for restraint and dialogue underscores its broader commitment to global peace and cooperative security frameworks.

Summary

Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke with UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to condemn recent attacks on the UAE and express condolences for the victims. India reaffirmed solidarity with the Gulf nation and thanked UAE authorities for protecting the Indian diaspora.
