Arrests in Tamil Nadu and West Bengal
Six suspects were detained from various locations in Tamil Nadu, while two others were apprehended in West Bengal. Among those arrested, one individual is reportedly a Bangladeshi national.
The six men held in Tamil Nadu have been identified as Mizanur Rahman, Mohammad Shabat, Umar, Mohammad Litan, Mohammad Shahid, and Mohammad Ujjal. According to officials, the arrests followed a coordinated intelligence-based operation led by a special investigative team.
Police sources stated that the accused were allegedly working in the Tiruppur garment industry while using forged Aadhaar cards to mask their identities. During the crackdown, authorities recovered eight mobile phones and 16 SIM cards, which are now being examined for digital evidence and possible foreign links.

The arrests came shortly after intelligence agencies issued a high alert in Delhi over a potential terror threat near the historic Red Fort. Reports indicated that religious sites in and around Chandni Chowk could be on the radar of the Pakistan-based terror group Lashkar-e-Taiba.
Security agencies received inputs suggesting that terrorists might attempt an improvised explosive device (IED) attack targeting a temple in the Chandni Chowk area. Religious locations near the Red Fort were reportedly identified as potential targets.
The alert has prompted heightened security deployment across sensitive zones in the national capital, particularly in crowded marketplaces and places of worship.

The latest developments come months after a deadly car explosion near the Red Fort area on November 10 last year. The blast, which occurred close to Gate No. 1 of the Red Fort Metro Station around 6:52 pm, claimed 12 lives and caused extensive damage to nearby vehicles. The impact of the explosion shattered windows of cars parked at a considerable distance and triggered fires in multiple vehicles.
Security agencies are now examining whether there is any connection between previous incidents and the newly uncovered terror module.
